The Killing Blade Arcade
During the Mongolian conquest of Central China is an era that ushered famine, pestilence, suffering and death of the people. Numerous battles took place in the central plains and during this great conflict, twelve weapon masters engage in deadly duels. Devious forces gather amidst the bitter strife.
The Mongol invasion of China swept the lands into ruin. Five factions spawned twelve lethal warriors for a battle of supremacy and exterminate the overlords of darkness: the Twin Tartars and Lord Wizard. The victor shall gain the title of “Superior Martial Paladin” and build a new empire and legacy to China.
The bite of cold steel shall decide the victor.
Killing Blade plays similarly (and has a similar historical-fantasy aesthetic) to SNK’s Samurai Shodown series. It features a 2-on-2 tag-team mechanic (similar to the Marvel vs. Capcom series) and two separate power meters (a red “offensive” meter for super moves and a blue “defensive” meter for a special universal combo).
The fighters to choose from are Long (longsword), Zhuge (short sword), Yizhen (stick), Ling (whip), Tsan (katana), Jinlun (ring blades) Shanguan (spearblade), Onisxa (shield and sword), Abacus (counting frame), Buto (twin short sword), Hades (ink brush) and Shinhu (twin maces). Each fighter has their own fighting techniques witch include blocks and special attacks. The fights are best of three. After defeating the playable fighters the non-playable bosses Twin Tartars (two fighters on top of each other) and Lord Wizard (the wizard) must be beaten. You can play solo or against a friend.
